Chivalry isnt dead: The high school varsity team has a game tonight in Winston-Salem. Before they loaded up, they asked if I was sure that I couldnt make it. I told them that I had a presentation in class tonight and could not go. They said well we had already all put in for gas if you wanted to drive and follow the bus. What? They pulled out a ziplock bag with money in it. They almost made me cry. These young men are truly gentlemen and I think that they think I am the mascot and their personal cheerleader or their lucky charm. I did hype them up at lunch though. I felt extra special. They tell everyone Im their favorite teacher and I dont even teach them, I just help them with academic strategies and study skills. #gowarriors
