Choosing Heaven 15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (1st John 2:15-17 ) We were never intended to remain in this world. and John tells us not to love it, or the things that come from it, saying. “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” (Vs 15) and he adds that the Spirit of YHWH is not present in those who are hung up on the things of this world. Like I said we belong with the Father, if we are His, not in this world. Our lives should be totally invested In the coming Kingdom and we are here as a rite of passage only. Here in this world is where we are proven to be Saints, ready for eternal life. Then He says, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (Vs 16) these are the things we must overcome in order to test our metal, and for many of us it takes a life time to have that Victory. We will fail, but then we will repent, then we’ll get up dust ourselves off and try again, praying all the while that the Holy Spirit will give us strength to overcome. Then He tells us of our reward, saying, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (Vs 17) The world will not last it is dying and so are the things of this world, it is temporary. So while it all looks so good, tastes and smells so good, and feels great at first, like a rose, but then we find the thorns. We find that loving the world just brings suffering. But on the other hand, we find that if we do the will of Him who sent us into the world, we will have eternal life. Yeshua Christ said, “In My Father’s house are many £mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:2, 3) This is our graduation, we have passed the final exam, and we are rewarded with an eternal home. This leaves us with a question that has eternal consequences, do we want to dive in and have a great time in the world, or ought we to work to overcome it? At some point each of us will struggle to answer this question, and some will fall on one side, and some on the other. Which will it be for you, my friend, Heaven, or a dying world? Today’s Affirmation: Today, I need to look at my life from Y’shua Christ’s point of view, where am I headed according to the choices I have made. Prayer: Father Yahweh, I pray that we will awaken to the choices that we make on a daily basis, Abba. I pray that I will always and in every way choose to please you and not myself, or the world. I desire to hear the voice of Your Holy Spirit more clearly than ever before. This I pray, In the Holy name of Y’shua Christ, my Savior. AMEN!
