Chris Colfer jokes about Twitter hoax that had him fired from Glee - remembers earlier rumor Im just glad I wasnt killed by a fruit truck again 04 JULY 2014 | BY GREG HERNANDEZ Chris Colfer took to Twitter - for real this time - to joke about the hoax that had sent Glee fans reeling on Thursday (3 July). The actors Twitter account had been hacked with a tweet that informed his followers that he had suddenly been fired from Glee due to personal issues that he would explain later. A short time later, the tweet was reported to be a hoax and fans could rest assured that Colfer would be returning as Kurt Hummel for Glees sixth and final season. Colfer responded to the incident with this tweet: Apparently I missed quite the INTERESTING day while aboard my flight. Im just glad I wasnt killed by a fruit truck again. He was referring to a hoax back in 2011 that spread a rumor that the actor had been killed by a fruit truck. That time, he was in London and got a call from his publicist asking: Are you alive? The reports were that Colfer had rear-ended a truck carrying a load of oranges and an avalanche of the fruit fell onto his car and killed him. Death by citrus, he joked to Conan OBrien in 2011. - See more at: gaystarnews/article/chris-colfer-jokes-about-twitter-hoax-had-him-fired-glee-remembers-earlier-rumor040714#sthash.DPEKchK9.dpuf
