Hey, when life gets to you...its so depressing. I dont even have to describe it. Those are the times when the existence, the realness, the absolute blackness of REALITY is plainly proven and shown to you. A more accurate description of that would be sin. If you.. are someone who denies the existence of sin and believe that the world is still good or has something better for you amongst the brokenness, you are someone on a quest. You are looking for something..something that can bring you HAPPINESS. You tell yourself that the world is still worthy to seek after. You look for it--in something or someone. And you believe in it. Does this describe you? Let me ask you something. Has your quest been successful thus far? Have you found that treasure yet? Or when you come home at the end of the day, do you feel secure and content? And on the days that you do, did it last till the next day? Has this goodness and provision of the world firmly secured your heart to be happy? Well, i dont know about you, but for me the answer was no. I want to share with you... something that God taught me a few days ago. He taught me that I was looking in the wrong places and he taught me that my heart is a broken instrument. He opened my eyes to the plain REALITY, to the THOUGHTS that run through my head that no one would ever know, to what i was FEELING all the time about myself and other people, and he showed me that the world is indeed sinful. I am sinful. Out of his love, he taught me this, and i listened. that sin is in my blood stream and that I am living in the devils play-yard. Thats when the mercy of God proved to be more REAL to me. Its existence became so much more needed and understandable. It was sweeter. I was in a state of awe and ultimately restful joy. What exactly is this mercy? This loving mercy of God was made known, secured, and promised through the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Our sins were forgiven through the crimson blood of Christ, the sacrificial lamb. Our sins were justified, quenched, FORGIVEN, by Jesus through his crucification on the cross. Thats what I mean when I say that he is my Savior. When I repent and put my trust in him with all my heart, i am freed from the chains of sin and now, my identity and purpose is found in the identity and purpose of Gods. What does this mean for me? It means that the Holy Spirit now lives and dwells within me and I have complete access to a God on the throne to be my only sustainer and source of joy during my life on earth. Friends, God is always for you. God will never leave you nor forsake you. We were the ones that left him first. BUT THEN the greater thing to note, is that if you think your rebellion against God might turn all the tables against you, or that he would reject you for who you are, you are SO wrong! If so, why would he even have sent Jesus to die on the cross? No! God wouldnt put his promise in you. No. He put his promise in Jesus. The only one that could seal the deal. You have already failed, done and said so many things, believed and practiced so many things. He already knows that. He expects nothing from you but ONLY for you to understand sin, repent, and abide in Christ. Jesus is real. And He deeply loves you. If you reject him, he will be broken hearted. Why? Because he STILL deeply loves you.
