Christian friends from Harvard say lets not make heroes out of Charlie Hebdo as its cartoons were Crude, Preposterous & Obscene. Catholic League says Muslims are right to be angry. Mani Shankar Aiyar even goes to the extent of calling it an obvious backlash. But some desperate apologist Muslims from Srinagar arent affected. Please note Im not talking about the murders or its justification. Im concerned about either no reactions on the blasphemy or even mocking those who are perturbed, citing following reasons: One, Is Islam & its Prophet so weak to be effected by a stroke of somebodys pen? They forget that billion followers do get emotionally bruised, if not the Islam & its Prophet. Some even justify it saying Well, these people make fun of every other religion, so why only we react? They forget its an established fact that other people arent so bothered as Muslims are sensitive towards their Prophet. Our previous generations have been successful to peacefully convey this to others. Thats why anti-Islamic artists can be counted on finger tips. These people, by comparing Muslims with others are undoing the hard work of our predecessors by being open to such Freedoms. Besides, Non-Muslims must understand that if they want a peaceful coexistence with us, respecting our basic sensitivity towards our Prophet, is a prerequisite. Disrespecting him is not any Life-saving drug for them, that theyll turn down this demand of 1.5 billion dwellers of this earth. If they dont, we the mainstream Muslims wont use violence but we shall consider such artists as our enemies. The ball is in your court now. Let all of us be truthful to our Non Muslim brethren and tell them Our hearts break when you do so, Instead of using stupid logic of When others dont react, why are we over-sensitive & that Islam wont be affected, so on & so forth. I can understand tolerance only after you go through phase of anger. I cant judge people. I ask you how much were you infuriated before you exhibited Sabr & patience. The irony is that many of us dont feel any angst and then call it tolerance in the very first instance.
