Christmas Eve Ponderance: Just a few years ago there were so fellas workin at night just doin what they always did. Prepared for work and the hazards night work often bring. Yes prepared they were, yet forgotten by most and ignored by others they stood watch over that which was in their charge. What could have been on their minds? What could have been the focus of their conversation? History may never know, yet their lives would be changed forever. Imagine for a moment these men whose job was the lowliest of low, not respected for what their toil would soon benefit even the richest throughout the region. Vermin, thieves and other threats actual or perceived dare not approach. They were prepared! Or were they? Can anyone prepare for everything? They would be visited by the Angel of God with a great message (Luke 2:8 and following). So in THIS Christmas season try to remember God announced the coming of the GREATEST gift ever to be given, to the lowest of low. Today in only a few seconds can see on most media outlets the status of shepherd has for at least some have morphed into two different but similar job classes. Our military serving in harms way protecting our freedoms and liberties. And...yes those lowliest of low ... The LEOs who are on the Job protecting our freedom and our liberties from those who seek to take them from us. Whether shepherd, armed services or LEO. You are special and in the prayers of many, including this undeserving citizen. I will and always will have your back. Merry CHRISTmas to these heroes and their families.
