Church calls for peace: The church has called on Zimbabweans from all political affiliations to condemn violence and uphold peace before, during and after elections. Tehillah Christian Network founder president Reverend Sam Malunga challenged Zimbabweans to desist from violence to shame detractors who are bent on discrediting the country’s election process. He said political parties have the moral obligation to ensure their supporters act in such a way to prove Zimbabwe is a civilised nation which can not be divided by enemies of her independence who rejoice in crisis to get an opportunity to plunder local resources. Pastor Shepherd Kashesha of the World Revival Centre said Zimbabwe is a spiritually rich country with a glorious history which has laid a solid foundation for christian standards. The Christian leaders castigated western countries for meddling in Zimbabwe’s internal processes and for instigating antagonism and violence in third world states to wrongly portray conflict and chaos during elections in a bid to discredit the legitimacy of the outcome. Zimbabweans go for the harmonised elections on the 31st of this month.
