Circumstances leading up to the interviews were bizarre, the CNN crew visiting North Korea on assignment later described the meeting. However, they were taken to meet three Americans including Christian missionary Kenneth Bae. While Bae gave a difficult to watch interview describing his declining health, Matthew Todd Miller described having gone to North Korea with the intent of committing the crime he committed even though he allegedly isnt aware of what the crime actually is. At any rate the common thread for each of the three interviews was that they implored the U.S. Government to send a special envoy to North Korea to secure their release. Some analysts suggest that North Korea is giving the Obama Administration to liberate the detained without further incident and for the Kim Regime to save face.
