City Recognizes Seven Local Development Projects with Awards December 18, 2014 - The City of Fredericton has recognized seven local development projects at its annual Development Awards held at City Hall. Awards went to two infill developments, a commercial development, two townhouse projects, a mixed use development, and a heritage conservation effort. “Our year-end development awards are an opportunity to recognize some of the best and most unique developments that have taken place in the city this year,” said Coun. Mike O’Brien. “It is also an opportunity to say thank you to the entire business and development community, including individual homeowners, for their investment in renovations and new construction.” “Development totals for 2014 have already exceeded $104 million in value,” added Coun. O’Brien. “This development activity provides for jobs in all sectors of our business community. The future remains bright.” PROJECTS RECOGNIZED 777 Churchill Row. Infill Development. Developer and architect John Leroux was presented with the Mayor’s Award for his single-family detached dwelling at 777 Churchill Row. 3-17 Camden Lane. Townhouse Design. This award recognizes the Hill Brothers for their 8-unit townhouse project constructed on Camden Lane, off of Brookside Drive. 570 Two Nations Crossing Commercial Plaza. Commercial Development. Colpitts Developments was acknowledged with an award for their 3,000 square metre retail development at the corner of Two Nations Crossing and Cliffe Street. 300-306 Dunn’s Crossing Townhouses. Townhouse Design. This award recognizes MacCallum Ventures Ltd. for their townhouse development. 262-264 George Street. Infill Development. Mike Phillips and Yvette Saad were recognized for the two-unit condo development at 262-264 George Street. 759 George Street. Heritage Conservation. Mark and Ellen Messenger were recognized for the restoration of their home at 759 George Street. 671 Prospect Street. Mixed-Use Development. This award recognizes Les Elyzees Realty Inc., for their mixed-use building located at 671 Prospect Street.
