City of Prince Albert Corporate Communication Services citypa.ca Mayor Dionne Invites Investment in Prince Albert Signals renewed commitment to regional partnerships In an address to media and stakeholders today at the Golf and Curling Club, Mayor Greg Dionne delivered the message that Prince Albert is ready for investment and that he is prepared to work closely with regional partners to make it happen. Mayor Dionne held a stakeholder meeting to introduce the City’s Reg ional Economic Action Committee, which was formed following his election as Mayor. The committee, which consists of key business partners and community members, serves in advisory capacity to City Council. “We wanted to introduce the committee to the community so that they know that this is an approachable group and to know that we value the input from our community,” said Mayor Dionne. “If we want Prince Albert to grow we can’t do it alone, we need all members of the community engaged. That’s why I’ve challenged our business and stakeholder groups to be the eyes and ears in our community. I want them coming to me, to our Director Rick Stuckenberg, if they hear of any investment opportunities. No lead is too small. We will follow up on it.” During the address, Mayor Dionne shared some of the initiatives that the committee is looking at into the New Year including strengthened partnerships with the surrounding RMs, municipalities and First Nations in Prince Albert and the entire North Central Region. “Effective economic development can only be achieved through cooperation,” said Mayor Dionne. “When we partner together we can pool resources and work more efficiently. We also bring more influence when we work as a whole.” Dionne noted that he is looking for unique opportunities to work together and ways of doing business between municipal and First Nation governments that have not been done before. “At the end of the day we are all one region and when one of us benefits we all benefit.
