That frightening concept is a potential reality for a family who owns a pit bull in Moreauville, Louisiana, reported Fridays KALB News. Thanks to an ordinance which was passed on October 13, families who own pit bulls or Rottweilers must get rid of their pets by December 1, or the dogs will be seized and disposed of. The owner of one pit bull named Zeus, has started a petition asking that the ordinance be overturned. To date, over 20,000 people have signed the petition - the hope is to have 25,000 signatures to help convince the officials in Moreauville to lift the breed ban. Joanna Armand is Zeus guardian, is devastated by the prospect of losing her dog; she stated: “ If anything ever happened to him, I would just shut down, Many families in this area will be impacted by this ban - many dogs who never done anything wrong will be unfairly killed.
