Civil Service Trade Union (CSTU) has asked the donor community and Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to reconsider their decision to stop giving allowances to participants of meetings, trainings and seminars and instead provide them with a full board. CSTU President, Servace Sakala said the decision has compromised quality of work and affected the country’s development. “We have noted that many civil servants are shunning meetings by delegating junior officers or not attending at all because they know they will get little or nothing from it,” he said in an interview on Monday.
