Cloak of Invisibility removed from Elephant! Jack Sloan It is like an elephant has just suddenly appeared. However, just as with the proverbial one in the room, no one acknowledges it. Sadly, I can understand the indoctrinated public not taking notice, but it is truly disheartening when you realize how far our representatives have fallen. How else can you explain the silence? If this were a Hollywood production, by now there would be crowds in the streets, Congress would be beating on the doors of the White House demanding justice. Treason… Treason! Would be the common cry. Now just in the hope, albeit false, that a Congressional Representative should read this, I will type real slow and try to use small words. Webster defines treason: (1) the betrayal of a trust. What has the president vowed that we are supposed to entrust to him? He swore, I ”will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” OK, I know those words might have been a little big for you congressional representatives, please try to stay with me. These next words are a little larger and I know totally new to you. They are from our Constitution, you know, you remember your oath, “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Actually it is “uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” (my comment) Our Constitution in Section 3 defines treason as: “levying War against [the United States], or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” Back in June in my column on Benghazi, I brought up the treasonous act of covertly arming our enemies as far back as the overthrow of Col. Muammar Gaddafi. The problem with covert acts, it usually takes a great deal of time, if ever, for physical evidence to surface. Until that point, you are left with just informant’s accounts. Those are rarely sufficient to convene a congressional special investigation to obtain physical evidence. Lo and behold, here we are with a president that publicly comes out and says he is going to commit treason. The silence is deafening. Excuse me, hello, we are no longer under the restraints of a lack of physical evidence, we have a confession. The fact that this is possible and the screams for justice have not been heard reverberating from the capitol dome is far more than disheartening, it is terrifying. For this to be possible and not immediately be met with out cries, affirms we no longer have a functioning democratic republic. They do not respect their oath of office or our Constitution, which they have sworn to defend. Our Representatives are not our representatives! On September 17, 2013, for the purpose of arming the “Syrian rebels,” the president, citing his authority under the Arms Export Control Act, announced that he would “waive the prohibitions in sections 40 and 40A of the AECA related to such a transaction.” He is allowed within the AECA, to waive those prohibitions if he “determines that the transaction is essential to the national security interests of the United States.” Now, nobody in their right mind would condone arming our enemy, under the pretext it was for the “national security interests of the United States.” His choice to wave this section may in and of itself not be treason. What it is though is a public declaration of his contention to commit treason. If the arms have actually been delivered it is the commission of a treasonous act. There is evidence that in fact, arms have already been delivered through the CIA and all this is just a formality to cover what has occurred. For any of you congressional representative that are still with us, let me spell it out for you. We have indisputable evidence that an enemy, with which we are currently engaged with on the battlefield, is embedded in significant numbers within the rebel forces opposing Assad. It is undisputed that we would be unable to guarantee that arms provided to the rebels would not end up in the hands of our enemy. As a matter of fact, all intelligence reports, virtually guarantee that arms would end up in the hands of our enemy, and that, it may in fact occur upon delivery and not merely an issue of arms being passed on. Arming the enemy is treason! Some of you by now (mostly congressman) may feel I have been disrespectful to our congressional representatives, belittling. My feelings are these, for them to be currently silent in spite of our current circumstances, they have to fall into either one of two categories. Spineless and ignorant or corrupt and vile. Either one of which nullifies my respect for the individual, I greatly respect the office, but upon violation of their oath, they loose all respect acquainted with the office. In view of the available evidence that the President, Barack Hussein Obama, by providing arms to the “Syrian rebels,” did knowingly and with forethought, “Aid and Comfort” an enemy of the United States, he should be, in accordance with the law, arrested for the crime of treason. You can impeach him later. We should all contact our congressional representatives and tell them that in view of the overwhelming evidence, arming the Syrian rebels would be tantamount to treason. Furthermore, anyone voting for, providing means of or commissioning the act of arming the rebels, upon delivery of said arms shall be held accountable for an act of treason against the United States.
