Coalition to Stop Smart Meters - Update 2015-01-22 Ontarios Sensus $$smeters order removed - esasafe/utilities/regulation 1) Today, the Electrical Safety Authority in Ontario ordered Sensus meters to be removed due to potential problems like those that occurred in Saskatchewan. They attributed the problem to arcing caused by moisture, related to the remote disconnect switch. The official press release link is below. Of course, Bill Bennett and BC Hydro will say these are not ITRON. But we know that ITRON meters gather moisture [see Photos posted above & on the left side], they have remote disconnect switches, so why are these allowed on our homes? Here is the link (I sent the article itself to Bennett and Reimer, letter posted above). Please consider sending it yourself to your MLA, and don’t forget to include Dix and Horgan. - esasafe/assets/files/esasafe/Newsroom/ESA-Meter-Release-FINAL-ROP-Jan.22.2015.pdf 2) “Are electric companies facing extinction?” - solar.org/s/57bec0c/ 3) Many studies have been done on cell phone use because this is a device used by most people over the last 10-15 years. More studies are looking at effects on children’s health and behavior, having tracked exposure before and after birth. The consistent message is children should not be exposed to RF before birth and not during the formative years. Not according to manuals for some of the newest electronics. A member alerted me to Samsung’s privacy statement included in a manual for a new TV. These things are gathering all sorts of data and also will have a ZigBee chip connecting it to BC Hydro. Although Samsung says the video, etc can be turned off, how will we know it hasn’t been re-activated? This seems to me to be 1984 on steroids. Why is this not illegal? Many of the appliances and electronics say that deactivating the ZigBee chip will nullify the warranty. They want our data and so do the hackers. The policy states in part, “Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition” So will gesture and facial recognition – toward the very bottom of the article. 1.
