Cohesiveness: with five members on the NCCS Board of Education, not everyone will always agree on items presented to them from time to time. However, our board members wouldnt be doing their job if they didnt ask questions. Some may not know that the agenda for board meetings is provided five days prior to the meetings themselves. This can include weekends. When I am elected I will review every item presented to me during those five days and will make every effort to contact the appropriate persons if I have questions leading up to a decision. Coming to a board meeting prepared is my goal! However, at a board meeting I will certainly listen to my peers if they have questions or concerns as well. The beauty of a board is that multiple ideas, thoughts, and opinions may be shared before voting on a matter. I will also listen attentively to audience members who chose to utilize the public speaks portion of the meeting. I will treat each person with the same respect I would want in return. These constructive discussions will lead us to making the right choices for our children. Being part of a team means being a team player is a must!
