I cannot even begin to explain my love for St. Jude after joining Tri Delta and learning more about this incredible place. It was the belief of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas in 1962 that no child should die in the dawn of life and over 50 years later, the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common type of childhood cancer, has increased from 4 percent to 94 percent today. During this time, the overall survival rate for childhood cancers has risen from 20 percent to 80 percent.
