Come on everyone... Anderson taunting Weidman wasnt about him being too cocky for his own good, it was primarily about making Weidman emotional, to get him to overcommit. Exactly the same mindgames the Diaz brothers always play. They might all be genuine assholes (I have no clue, never met them), but the showboating works perfectly for a rangy counterfighting outfighter like Anderson (although its pretty damn dangerous when the reach advantage isnt there, as we all saw). Look what happened against Maia when Maia refused to lead. Tons of pointfighting style potshots from the outside and running away while showboating to impress the judges and try to pull Maia off plan. Anderson cares about WINNING, primarily. He knows he cant do that if he leads against strong wrestlers, so he always tries to draw people in, whatever it takes. Striking equivalent of old school "get in my guard!" BJJ butt scooting...
