Commonwealth Afternoon On Monday afternoon the Junior Syndicate - TopicsExpress

Commonwealth Afternoon On Monday afternoon the Junior Syndicate celebrated their learning about the Commonwealth by sharing a special thing about their country. The children found out about…… The special animals in Australia Tribal neckwear in Kiribati A special elephant parade in Sri Lanka A special place in India called the Taj Mahal Beautiful Tapa patterns that are made in Samoa Castles in Scotland Foods, languages, castles of Wales and the history of Saint David’s Day; Wales’ National day After our sharing time we had a quick parade and then went onto the field where Ms Nelson had all the equipment set up for the Big Wheel relay. The children had to run, kick balls and jump over ropes. The teachers were giving points for teams that were following the Tawhai School values a well as points for where teams came in the relay. We had 3 top teams that won gold, silver and bronze medals, but the all the children participated so well that they all received a treat. We were so proud of all the children’s efforts and want to say a big thank you to our parents and grandparents who came along for support. Thanks to Jamie Philips and Leanne Nukunuku for sharing some of your lovely photos with us! Below are just a few of them.
