Companies & Investments KBZ granted as official sponsor of SEA Games On 30 June, KBZ Group of Companies signed a memorandum of understanding with Japanese Dentsu and JK Co.Ltd, the official fund-raising company for the 27th SEA Games hosted in Myanmar. According to U Than Cho, Senior Managing Director of KBZ Bank, KBZ will provide US$ 1 million as the main official sponsor. KBZ Bank, AIR KBZ, MAI AIR and IKBZ have been granted copyright contracts to make use of SEA Games logos and mascots in Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw and Ngwe Saung Beach, where SEA Games will be hosted. According to the New Light of Myanmar, KBZ Bank will install ATMs in activity zones for the convenience of international visitors using VISA, Master and MPU cards. Exchange counters will be opened and mobile ATMs will be used in some places. KBZ prepaid cards bearing the SEA Games logo will be sold and special services will be offered to passengers using MAI AIR and AIR KBZ chartered flights during the event. In terms of SEA Games sponsorship, three classes of sponsorship have been established. US$ 3 million is regarded as Platinum Class and US$ 2 million and US$ 1 million are classified as Gold and Silver Classes respectively, according to Dr Maung Maung Thein, Vice Union Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Revenue. Dentsu and JK Co.Ltd has promised to raise US$ 7 million. However, the company has yet to disclose the full amount of funds raised despite the event being 162 days away.
