Completing the journey – final Yes conversations! Thanks to your patient hard work and months of Yes conversations, a Yes win is within reach! However, there are still many more important conversations to be had. Our key messages now are that: • people are realising the extent of Scotland’s wealth and the opportunities a Yes provides to deliver real gains for people who live here • this is a choice between Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands, or Scotland’s future being left in Westminster’s hands • this is a once in a lifetime opportunity - let’s do this! People are waking up to the wealth of opportunities Yes offers We can never do too much to emphasise Scotland’s wealth: • we’re among the top 20 wealthiest countries in the world, according to Financial Times analysis, and wealthier per head than the UK, Japan and France • we have a huge range of industries from engineering to life sciences, food and drink to tourism, the creative sector to financial services • on top of that we have our extraordinary energy wealth – oil and gas and renewables – plus the best educated population in Europe according to UK National Statistics. So Scotland is a wealthy country. But for too many people it doesn’t feel that way. People are moving to Yes as they see the opportunity a Yes offers to change that, with new powers: • to save £600 million by getting rid of things like Trident and the House of Lords • to protect our NHS from the damaging knock on effects of English health privatisation and invest in other public services like education • to have economic policy designed for Scotland, making it an even better place to do business, and use new job creating powers to deliver more and better quality employment opportunities, closer to home. Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands? Or Scotland’s future in Westminster’s hands? With such a strong platform we can choose independence with confidence. Where we go from there will be up to us as a nation - an incredible opportunity! Choosing our own future means we will always get the government we vote for and can use control of Scotland’s great resources to deliver real gains for the people living here, building a fairer and more prosperous country. Leaving our fate in Westminster’s hands means more Tory governments we didn’t elect. Key decisions will continue to be made against our interests by politicians like David Cameron – someone who has spent weeks co- ordinating a campaign of fear and misrepresenting what businesses are saying. Why would we leave our future in his hands? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity – so “let’s do this”! While the No campaign will rely on fear and uncertainty to push some to say No in the polling booth, we are continuing to build confidence, and belief in Scotland’s abilities. We’ve absolutely got what it takes to prosper as an independent country - we need to take this opportunity, or we’ll regret it for decades to come. We can be proud of the referendum, which has seen a flourishing of Scotland’s self-confidence as a nation. We should welcome the fact that people have different views and that the debate has encouraged people to express these. We’ve had all these strengths - resources, talent, wealth - but the referendum has given us something additional - a new energy, confidence and determination, a flowering of engagement from all sides, that will serve us very well in the early days as an independent nation. Scotland will move forward together after a Yes vote. It’s possible we’ll never have this chance to take control of our own future again. Let’s do this! SCOTLAND’S FUTURE IN SCOTLAND’S HANDS
