Concussion awareness event planned tonight Parents of youth athletes are invited to a free concussion awareness clinic from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Staybridge Suites, located at 805 N. Keene St. in Columbia. The theme of the event is “Prepare. Prevent. Play. Safe Kids Safety Campaign.” Speakers will include Aaron Gray, MD, assistant professor of family and community medicine and orthopaedic surgery at the School of Medicine, and Thomas Martin, PsyD, professor of health psychology at the School of Health Professions. Gray and Martin will speak about concussions, focusing on building awareness and resources within the community to improve and empower the health of our children
