Sr. Dice Product Manager Nick Freilich gives his analysis: There’s good news and there’s bad news. The bad news is that you pretty much have to take a zero here if you don’t want to risk control of this game. The good news is that you’re still ahead and you’ve already picked up two 5 of a kinds, while your opponent hasn’t scored one. The question, really, is where to take your zero. Four of a kind would be my choice. It’s a tough space to fill and you can only pick up a maximum of 30 points there (more likely 17-23). Large Straight is still very much in play and worth 40 points, while Full House is a relatively common Lower Section result for a decent 25 points. Some people have suggested taking 3 points on 3s, but this forces you to get four 4s, 5s or 6s to hit your 35-point bonus, and one of the main keys to winning a game of Dice is to get that Upper Bonus. It’s just not worth the risk, especially when this game should be an easy win given the current score.
