Congrats to our member, Dale, for completing his 2nd mud run with his daughter. Below are a few photos and his call to all parents to be active with and seek a healthy life with their children. Spartan Race Tough Mudder Camp Gladiator Ennis, TX @ Camp Gladiator Corsicana TX Mud: The tie that binds Of course there is the obvious benefits of instilling the importance of a healthy lifestyle for our children (healthy body and mind!), but I am finding that involving your children in sports and fitness activities can truly be a great bonding experience. My 8 year old just ran her 2nd mud run with me a few weeks ago and we had such a great time! She really pushed herself and made me proud, but the best part of it was her eagerness and excitement in running it with me. It felt great crossing the finish line with her and the huge smile on her face. Why a mud run? Well, that is kinda my thing. I am not even entirely sure my daughter likes to get dirty but she happily does it anyway. So just to make sure that this isnt one-sided, I let them weigh in on other activities for us to do together. I think it is important that a parent should truly experience what their children are interested in. So.. Both of my girls are in dance and this year I had the, ahem, pleasure of being signed up for the parent dance at the end of the year. The girls taught me 3 things: 1) I need to work on my cardio (dance is TRULY an athletic event) 2) My cartwheels are horrendous (I unfortunately have a video to prove it). 3) I still dont like to dance, but would do that 1,000 times over just to see the girls light up. I guess that is why my 8-year old signed up for her 3rd mud run. :-) So call to all parents! Get out there with your kids and find a sport, exercise, or activity to get involved in together. You wont be disappointed!
