Congratulations to Alex Buehlow, the 18 year old autistic swimmer who attempted to swim Lake Ontario early Monday morning. He came within 3 km of the 52 km swim!! What a shame this has not created more publicity! The quiet spoken young man has just done something that you or I will never do. He dedicated the swim to "Three to Be", a Toronto organization dedicated to research for children with neurological disorders! He hopes to raise $100,000 towards this research! A bit about "Three to Be" organization: THREE TO BE was founded in 2010 by Jared and Dana Florence. Jared and Dana are the proud parents of 5-year-old triplets –Taylor, Cole and Brody – who were each diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, a class of brain injury from birth that has no known cure. THREE TO BE is Canada’s only registered charity dedicated to raising awareness and funds for research and therapy of a broad spectrum of children’s neurological disorders, which range from Cerebral Palsy to Autism. THREE TO BE is proud to support the Hospital for Sick Children, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and the March of Dimes Canada Conductive Education School for Children with Disabilities.
