Congratulations to Ashoil who was named the Achievement and Community Award Overall State Winner at the 2014 WA Regional Achievement and Community Awards on Friday. Ashoil of Tom Price collects waste cooking oil from mining camps throughout the Pilbara region and converts it into biodiesel. This directly offsets diesel usage and is the equivalent of removing 100 cars from the road annually. Ashoil is an indigenously owned organisation that works as a training vehicle for Indigenous people who wish to enter the resource sector. 60 people have been trained along with a number of high school students in an effort to improve school attendance.
