Congratulations to Khalil Evans and Jerimiah Phillips, who were presented with Safe & Sounds Youth Leadership Award by Mayor Tom Barrett at the organizations annual awards breakfast at the Italian Community Center this morning. Khalil volunteers at the Social Development Commission (SDC) and ArtWorks for Milwaukee, where his creativity and leadership have earned him respect. Jerimiah is a leader at Running Rebels Community Organization where his involvement expanded beyond the recreation programs to Youth Entrepreneurship, Lindsay Heights Youth Council and Summer of Peace. Other award recipients were Chief Edward Flynn, Zilber Family Foundation and Mary Ellen Stanek.
