Congratulations to all of the award recipients honored at the Seventh Annual Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Service Awards ceremony last night! Members of the judiciary, and lawyers and paralegals in our community, gathered at the Chester H. Ferguson Law Center to recognize outstanding volunteer service provided by their colleagues. Pro bono attorneys who provided 20 or more hours of service in 2013 received letters of recognition and lapel pins from the Florida Supreme Court, while attorneys who provided 100 or more hours of service – and there were a significant number! - received personalized Gold Letters with their pins that were signed by the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court. We would particularly like to recognize advocates in the following categories: Jan L. Brown - Outstanding Pro Bono Service by a Paralegal; Zuckerman Spaeder, LLC - Outstanding Pro Bono Service by a Law Firm; Crossroads For Florida Kids, Inc. - Outstanding Pro Bono Service by an Organization; Sara L. Alpert - Outstanding Pro Bono Service by a Young Lawyer; Elizabeth L. Hapner - Outstanding Pro Bono Service by a Lawyer; Hillsborough County Bar Association - Special Recognition Award; and Wesley D. Tibbals - Jimmy Kynes Pro Bono Service Award. Thank you to all who donated their time to ensure equal access to justice in our community!
