Congratulations to the North Antrim Ulster Unionists elected over the past 2 days : Causeway Coast & Glens - Causeway Sandra Hunter ; The Glens Joan Baird ; Ballymoney Tom Mckeown & Darryl Wilson Mid & East Antrim - Ballymena Stephen Nicholl ; Bannside William McNeilly ; Braid Robin Cherry. A personal thank you must go to Andrew Wright & Brian Thompson who stood in Bannside and the Braid but unfortunately didnt get elected - this time - but were the last candidates to be eliminated in each count, and they both put up a great & honourable fight throughout the campaign. Highlights - Joan the only Unionist elected in the Glens, 2 Cllrs in Ballymoney and our vote nearly doubled, of the 3 candidates in Causeway Sandra elected 1st, Robin topping the poll in the Braid, Willy & Andrew increasing our vote in Bannside by nearly 600, and an excellent fight by Stephen which demonstrated the power of transfers. And an massive thank you to our North Antrim election agents, Kate Elliott, Derek Torrens, Roy McClean and canvas, poster & labelling teams - the work paid off & the fight back has begun.
