Connecting a new device to the wi-fi, I was asked for that strange - TopicsExpress

Connecting a new device to the wi-fi, I was asked for that strange password that had come with the server when wed bought it years ago. I had no idea where we might have put whatever scrap of paper it was written on, or if we even still had it. Fortunately my daughter was home. Myra? I called out. Do you know where the password for the wi-fi might be? She started calling out the long string of random letters. Lower-case f, capital Q, capital T... She came into the room so I could hear her better. It turned out she had seen the paper several months ago and she was simply remembering the code. I typed it in and it worked. The experience got me wondering what else she might have memorized that way. Okay, I said. That did it. Now I just need my credit card number. I fished the card out of my wallet as she began to rattle off (correct) digits. She stopped when she saw I was following along. I raised my eyebrows at her. She gave that exasperated, hand-waving shrug common to teenagers. What if I need to buy something and youre not around?
