Considered to be one of the Queens of belly dance, the lovely Samia Gamal. Her costume bra & belt is called a Bedlah, and she is actually wearing a flesh coloured bodysuit to give the impression of a bare midriff. Though most people think this is what belly dancers wear, this is not a traditional costume. The influence of Hollywood films and what western audiences expected gradually filtered across the sea and so dancers felt under-pressure to dress in a particular way.
