Continuation of my teaching on “Love your enemies”. Read on…… The way to win the battle against Islam and other groups at war against Christianity is to love them as God does and channel that love into intercessory prayers and sacrificial soul winning. I have heard some believers say that the scripture says we should not suffer (allow) a witch to live (Exodus 22:18) hence; they pray that witches should die. I believe they do this because they are taking this scripture out of its context. I say this with a deep sense of humility because I have heard it too from so many ministers of the gospel under whom I have been brought up in the faith and have followed for many years. Sincerely, I deeply respect these numerous ministers who have manifested God’s grace and supernatural gifts in their lives in ways that have shaken their generations for God. I however often ask myself this question. Do I follow the example of Jesus Christ on this matter or that of men whom I deeply respect and admire because of God’s supernatural grace at work in their lives? God’s word teaches us to follow our God ordained leaders and mentors as they themselves follow Christ Jesus’ example. If they stop following Jesus’ example on an issue, then we should not follow them on that particular issue. Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. (1Corinthians 11:1)NIV I know of a Church that had a Spiritual head that was so anointed by God such that different manifestations of healings and deliverances were following him. Sick people who were rejected by hospitals because there was no cure for them were healed when they got to his church. The gifts of the Spirit were mightily at work upon his life and ministry. Surprisingly, He came up one day and said God has told him in a revelation to marry more wives. Some Pastors who were under him could not accept this decision because it was directly against what the word of God says. He stayed with his decision and married more wives but those Pastors had to leave him because they could not continue with him based on what he decided to do which was directly against God’s word. The head Pastor later realised that he was deceived into doing it after which he then put away the wives. Although he has passed on to be with the Lord, the ministry he established is still flourishing today. The other Pastors who left him also started a separate ministry which has blossomed into an international ministry with over 750 branches in several continents of the world. It would not have been right for those Pastors to stay with him and fight him because he was the Spiritual head and he is responsible to God alone. They however had a right to leave so as not to be contaminated with the error their Spiritual head got into. Hence I want to encourage all believers to follow the example of Jesus Christ when it comes to loving our enemies instead of many Spiritual heads who may be tempted to do otherwise.
