Contrary to popular opinion, a lifestyle of, struggling against sin and wrestling with the flesh, is ABNORMAL and UNNECESSARY for the Blood bought believer! Your old nature, which was susceptible to sin, is now GONE, and your NEW nature, the CHRIST nature, is so overwhelmingly POWERFUL and GLORIOUS, that your very FLESH has now become HOLY! Your HOLY SPIRIT FILLED body CRAVES HIS GLORY -- DESIRES and THIRSTS and HUNGERS FOR HIS MANIFEST PRESENCE! Now, you may say, Rick, that all sounds real nice but I struggle everyday against the sinful things my flesh wants! Read carefully now, please... The ONLY weapon the enemy has left is the ability to LIE! He MUST gain our agreement with his LIES; lies that are designed to make SIN look appealing -- lies that are designed to make God look small, distant, aloof, uncaring and any number of other things that our LOVING FATHER IS NOT! These lies are intended to gain your agreement with the accusers TWISTED and MALICIOUS OPINION OF YOU! For instance, a fallen angel may say stuff like,You are a lustful person. You are a liar, a thief, a cheat, a drunk, an addict, a glutton and a fraud. You are a SINNER! Of course, they may also say stuff like,You are such a good person with a good heart who just loves people and always wants to do the right thing. You dont need a Savior! Savior from WHAT? Youre so good and kind and loving! That Jesus business is only for BAD PEOPLE! And heres the TRUTH WITHOUT the infilling Spirit of Christ, you ARE A SINNER! No matter how GOOD or BAD you THINK YOU ARE -- according the Word of God (the Bible) --you ARE darkened in your understanding because of SIN -- and as a result of that, you are subject to ALL KINDS OF FILTH and WICKEDNESS! And you have NO WAY TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE FALLEN ANGELS (demons) who will stop at NOTHING to DESTROY you and everything you hold dear! A miserable existence of addiction, self hatred, self worship, confusion, depression, hopelessness and deception are the NORMAL and EXPECTED LIFE OF A PERSON WHO HAS NOT YET BEEN RENEWED IN THEIR MIND through the indwelling Spirit of TRUTH! Many professing Christians STILL experience the existence I described above as their daily reality simply because they have never actually BELIEVED THEY ARE WHO GOD SAYS THEY ARE! For some, it is because they have NEVER HEARD THE TRUE GOSPEL OF GRACE and for others, it is because they have REFUSED THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST IN FAVOR OF SELF RULE! Probably the most radical and life changing thing Ive ever heard God say is,Rick, you are holy, blameless and perfect because I SAY SO. You see, He has provided GRACE to empower our moment by moment CHOICE TO AGREE ONLY WITH WHAT HE SAYS ABOUT US. This AGREEMENT enables us to experience the PERFECT REST OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. Thats it. Thats all. God speaks the TRUTH and has given us everything we need to AGREE WITH WHAT HE SAYS. The enemy lies and tries desperately from a place of utter defeat, to get us to agree with what he says. We either agree with God and experience LIFE and REST...or we agree with the liar and experience DEATH, STRIFE, STRUGGLE and CHAOS. The choice is yours! Grace to you, ~RCT
