Cool and, probably, dry Saturday. This is no time to play outside. So join us in some of the Citys best watering holes on the Cable Car Frolic! Meet up at Tadich Grill at 2 pm, to enjoy the incomparable, Old-San-Francisco atmosphere of this beloved institution. Next, well hop aboard the California Street cable car and ride up the hill to Chinatown, where well visit the venerable Far East Cafe, for a drink or nibble beneath the 1920s lanterns. Back on the cable car, we continue up Nob Hill to the fabulous Tonga Room in the Fairmont Hotel, and after a further ride (or walk if youre feeling hearty), well finish up at San Franciscos newest Art Deco restaurant, Osso Steakhouse. Have a drink at the sleek, gorgeous bar -- and make reservations for dinner if you like! (415-771-6776) Dress in urbane Deco daywear, with your new Easter bonnet or panama hat, and bring cash for the cable car: The fare is $6 for each ride, and transfers are not offered, but you can purchase an all-day pass from the conductor for $15. (Yes, its a bit steep, but so is Nob Hill -- and we love to support these historic vehicles!) To join the Caper in progress or keep track of the group, Theresa LaQuey will be posting on Facebook throughout the day, or you can phone her at 610-283-6555. https://facebook/events/427570300711908/
