Cool review for SHABBY TRICK - BADASS on Zombie Ritual Zine! Yeah! This is an excellent piece of Italian heavy metal hidden in somebody’s closet for years, until JR Recs decided to re launch it with some extra material from demos. The band was active in the middle of 80’s and as you can imagine, it really sounded like the 80’s. Sometimes sounds like glam/hard rock from L.A. and sometimes it sounds like European heavy metal in the most melodic and powerful vein. I think the most important aspect to mention is that original vocalist Andy Sixtynine sounded very similar to Alice Cooper, and before you crucify me, please take a listen to the band. Well, the album sounds pretty fresh and melodic. This features really good songs with sticky choruses, like “I want your body”, which it would have been a hit in America’s mainstream media. My favorite track is the energetic “Scarred”, which is more influenced by fast and melodic heavy metal coming from Germany in 80’s. As aforementioned, the re edition of the album comes with extra material taken from early days of the band, and it worth to get it. It’s a genuine Italian gem. As extra info, the band reunited in 2009 and released a couple of new albums. – Victor Varas
