Coolest thing ever at Hime Depot today...as I was walking in this young man with Downs Syndrome grabbed my hand, shook it and said good morning. Then his mom kinda hollered at him to catch up. He was probably around 20 or so... A few minutes later I had passed some guys in one of the aisles in my way to grab some more packing boxes. Typical jackass dudes, had to make lewd comments about my rear in my yoga pants. I ignore them... They follow me. Ive grabbed my boxes and turned around and theyre blocking the aisle trying to chat me up. Didnt feel threatened really...just oogie... As I glance up, the young man I met earlier on the way in comes down the intersecting aisle. He steps in between the morons and says. Sis! There you are! Moms looking for you, shes ready to go! Then he grabs my hand and pulls me away saying Sorry guys...my sister wanders off when she doesnt take her meds! He walked me to the front and disappeared! I almost wet myself at the look on the morons faces! Anyone who say folks with DS arent smart is an imbecile, this kid read the situation and reacted swiftly in a non threatening manner like an absolute champ! Wish I got his name and a chance to thank him.
