Corporate Updates South Africa Reinet Investments: The investment company, in its management statement for 3Q14, announced that net asset value (NAV)/share, as on 31 December 2013, rose to EUR21.03 from EUR20.54 posted on 30 September 2013. NAV, as on 31 December 2013, climbed to EUR4.12bn from EUR4.02bn recorded on 30 September 2013. Group Five: The company, in its trading statement for 1H14, stated that it anticipates diluted headline EPS to be between R1.96 and R2.11, compared to R1.51 posted in the same period last year. Diluted EPS is expected to be in the range of R1.95 to R2.09, compared to R1.39 recorded a year ago. Fortress Income Fund: In its trading statement for 1H14, the company announced that it expects the distribution/B linked unit to be between 37.0% and 42.0% higher from the same period last year. Aquarius Platinum: The platinum miner, in its 2Q14 production update, reported that its output increased 7.0% to 84,528.00oz compared to the same quarter previous year. Despite an increase in production and cost cuts, the company achieved lower prices during the quarter. Kagiso Media restructures to create a single digital unit: Kagiso Media said that it has merged its digital assets with those under a licence from Microsoft, into one unit. Grindrod on board for rail transport growth: Grindrod and its main shareholder, Remgro, have identified rail infrastructure in Africa as a major growth area. They have teamed up, through Grindrod unit, Grindrod Freight Services, and Remgro’s Pembani Remgro Infrastructure Fund, to form a new company, GPR Leasing, which would provide trains to a range of clients that want to invest in rail transportation in Africa.
