Corruption serves two major purposes. It paves the way to power, and it shows the exit outta power. In effect, it is capable of making you smile, and then cry. The Kuffour administration rode on the back of alleged corruption in NDC to power. The NPP lost power from the perception of gross corruption that many people attributed to it. Unfortunately, corruption has practically become the sole determinant of who gets to power in most African countries. You know the implication? Corruption may NOT be only a political problem, but a national problem that is built on systemic lapses created by technocrats, and the law enforcement agencies.
