Counting down the days until April 1st as it is the day for a Candlelight Vigil for Autistic Children Who Lost Their Lives After Wandering. This is a day that weighs on me a lot, as this situation could happen to Amberlyn, regardless of the safety nets put into place. Avonte Oquendo (Avonte Oquendo Initiative) was at a school where it was fenced in, locked doors AND security guards that did patrols around the school. His mother warned the school that he had a tendency to wander and yet with all of this put into place, a moment of carelessness due to an employee provided Avonte with chance to run and unfortunately that was the last time he was seen alive.
