County convention in the morning; history obligation in the afternoon. Nice to see so many old friends at the convention. Each year, I comment on the horrible single-member districts in this state--how they fail to represent the people because theyre always so gerrymandered. Well, it should be obvious in Albany County. We hold all but two county-wide positions and yet cant even elect half of the legislative delegation. With at-large voting, wed have them all! What a disaster that was when Wyoming went to single-member districts in the early 1990s. And the sad part was that it wasnt necessary. Wed proven in the previous decade in the Niobrara case that there is no constitutional rule demanding single-member district representation. But, now were stuck.....and how long will it be until were down to no legislator in either house?
