County governments are all trying to outdo each other in coming up with sort of new levies on businesses that operate in their regions. Each county government is getting a share from the central government which is taxes collected from business and individuals across the country. That money ia not some donation from Siberia, its tax payers money . Then imposing new levies like there is no tommorow is a imply not making sense besides it amounts to double taxation. Kenya and your county is not the only place for people to do business , investors will simply ship out. County Govt must address wastage first before imposing new levies. The county of Uasin Gishu paid Ksh 235, 743 per month to each MCA as sitting allowance while Taveta drew only Ksh 15,827 per month. Why would tge former draw 15 times more than the latter? If that is not wastage and simply running the coffers dry what else is it? Turning around and coming with all sort of levies must be resisted by all & sundry. We see the extravagance when you travel across the country . Frugality never killed a man over indulgence has.
