Cow is sacred in Hinduism As many of my foreign friends dont know that India is mainly populated with Hindu religion and we believe that in cow there resides 33 Crore god and goddess, and as our supreme god is Krishna is very close to cows. so it is sacred in Hindu religion which means we dont kill it for meat. We do worship and in many parts of India we also have festival for that.(Pongal is one of the festival) I know my Muslim and Christian Brother and sisters eat it, as they have no restriction from their religion. As Muslims are forbidden from eating Pig. I dont know if Christians are forbidden from eating anything. But i think Buddhist people dont eat meat. What i personally think that we should be vegetarian and dont kill anyone for our taste. They also have desire and right to live as we have. =D
