Crazy morning. Up early so I could take Scout to school. Also Little Mamas hair day and shes all aflutter, racing from one place to another certain shes going to be late no matter how many times I say, you have over an hour before we leave the house. She has tuned me out. Shes carried five books around this morning like theyre the Holy Grail because she needs one to read at the hair salon and cant make a decision. One of them is The Dove, my new Dinah McCall book and she keeps asking me if shes read it because the girl on the cover looks familiar. sigh. Of course that is her great-granddaughter to whom she is referring and she doesnt realize it. Last night was crazy. Didnt think Id ever get her into bed. This morning shes bothered by the fact that a book I wrote has another name on it and she wants to know if Im going to make that writer change the name so I get credit. She has forgotten there is such a thing as a pen name, or that shes read dozens of other Dinah McCall books over the years. The name confusion has also spilled over into the fact that Im going to write a check for her hair appointment and she doesnt know which name I should use to sign the check. I finally got her calmed down and resting in her favorite chair in her room and fear Im going to have to wake her up in a few minutes to leave for the hair salon. Poor Little Mama. Too much confusion this morning. Shes already stated shed rather stay home. But, in an hour she would be pissed that her hair wasnt done, so we will leave pissed and come home all fluffed. Either way it is a trade-off. LOL A bird is singing outside my office window and Ive already had a conversation with a robin this morning as I went out to get Little Mamas newspapers. Were both a bit stunned by this cold air again after an almost 80 degree day yesterday, but then he went after a bug and I went back inside and that was the end of that.
