Crime updates from the village: RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Sometime between 9:15 AM and 6:15 PM on 1/30/14 a residence in the 5500 block of N Berkeley Blvd. was entered. Forced entry occurred at a rear window of the house. Jewelry was taken. Sometime between 7:30 AM on 1/16/14 and 10:30 PM on 1/20/14 a residence in the 4900 block of N Woodburn St. was entered. Forced entry occurred at rear window of the house. Jewelry was taken. Sometime between 1/15/14 and 4:00 PM on 1/18/14 a residence in the 5200 block of N Kimbark Pl. was entered. Forced entry gained through a locked door inside a screened in porch. Televisions, jewelry and savings bonds were taken. THEFT: Sometime between 11:15 AM and 12:40 PM on 1/23/14 an open, detached garage in the 5400 block of N Hollywood Ave. was entered. Tools boxes, power/garden tools were taken. Sometime between 5:00 PM on 1/19/14 and 2:45 PM on 1/23/14 an unlocked, detached garage in the 500 block of E Chateau Pl. was entered. A Toro brand snowblower was taken.
