Cristiana Águas Só Porque Não Sei Nadar - 2nd official videoclip from the debut album Filmed in Forum Municipal Luísa Todi, in Setúbal, Portugal. Official presentation of the album at Museu do Fado, in Lisbon, Portugal. The debut album of Cristiana Águas seems to be one good answer to the question raised frequently: what is Fado, after all? is it a formula? a feeling? or a story “told” by a weeping guitar in some street corner of Lisbon? or why not a windblown melody echoing in the hills of Rio de Janeiro? And what if Fado is all this? This is precisely the approach Cristiana Águas is proposing on her debut album. Produced by Pierre Aderne, the album features a starry group of musicians from both sides of the Atlantic. In the song «À Porta da Brasileira» Cristiana sings «I have found you by chance». And indeed it was by chance – another way to spell destiny – Pierre Aderne was introduced to Cristiana Águas by a mutual friend, the fado singer Cuca Roseta, in a Fado club runned by Mário Pacheco. “This young woman’s deep, beautiful voice caught totally my attention”, Pierre Aderne reminds. And how not to? Cristiana sings this thread of history which feels in the alleys of Alfama since she was 11. Fado is her mother tongue, her natural breath. Pierre Aderne volunteered for producing the debut album sensing “a similarity” with Gal Costa, not for the tone of her voice, which is very different, but for her total surrendering to the melodies and poems,” states the Brazilian artist who has so much of Portugal within himself. A total commitment certainly well weighed for she was elected to lending her voice to Amalia Rodrigues’ biopic, a tribute movie to the Diva of Fado, a tough challenge she accomplished remarkably. In this debut, she travels through fado as well as through songs of other latitudes, in a perfect marriage with both the Portuguese guitar or the piano, showing up safe on this magical journey with partners like Pedro Moutinho, Cuca Roseta or Ney Matogrosso, featuring songs composed by Philippe Baden Powell, Paulo Mendonça, Luiz Caracol, Dadi, Pedro Esteves, Pierre Aderne or Mário Pacheco. With a starry team of Portuguese (Luís Guerreiro, Carlos Leitão, António Quintino, Henrique Leitão) and Brazilian musicians (Jorge Helder, Ricardo Silveira, Jurim Moreira, Dadi, Mú Carvalho, Nilson Dourado, Gustavo Roriz), mixed and masterized by Mário Barreiros, one of Portugal’s top producers, Cristiana Aguas’ debut embodies a special moment of Portuguese music scene, in 2014. Ambitious and fearless, she now dares to step out of the fado clubs to a world of songs. She has Fado on her soul and the world on her throat, imposing her deep, steady and free voice, capable of grabbing one’s attention and keeping it locked. And she accomplishes all that in 11 moments of light, color and melody very soon to star in the center stage. The only thing missing is our applause. It will not take long, so Cristiana can be heard. _______ FOLLOW LIPSapp Classic Radio _______ FB: r-js/1vz7Pcz / TW: r-js/1kHd2Qt / Listen to LIPSapp Classic Radio r-js/1dOIQ18 #classicrock #rollingstones #ledzeppelin #santana #eagles #zztop #thewho #beatles #elvis #jimihendrix #dylan #acdc #michaeljackson #pinkfloyd #madonna #u2
