Crop Report - Saturday 19th July Although the forecast doesnt look great the volumes of fruit do look good. Our strawberries and raspberries are in tunnels so you can nip from one to the next to get shelter whilst picking fruit. Strawberries are plentiful with lots of tasty fruit available for easy picking. Raspberries are plentiful and there is a really good pick in the variety called Cascade Delight, the fruit is tasting fantastic just now! Gooseberries are plentiful and you can easily get both desert and cooking berries. Blackcurrants are easily picked now would be a great time to get your freezer filled and the jam made. Redcurrants are colouring up nicely and red fruit can be easily picked. We are now getting good picks of cherries and have some ready picked in the shop for £10/kg, same price as M&S but ours are a lot fresher and taste fantastic, one punnet will not be enough! PYO cherry price remains at £20/kg as there are very few ready for picking. The cherries should be ready for PYO in around 10 days.
