Cultural heritage of man, howsoever non-violent & non-reactionary, perhaps poses a threat to the imperialist and fundamentalist forces because they provide us the roots--do the attackers feel inferior in front of the long-standing passive influence of these apparently innocent and powerless structures symbolizing prosperity & peace? do the Kalapahads know that the brutal force can never acquire the grandeur or the value of a Bodh-Gaya or a Bamiyan Buddha or a Babylon or a Konark (not to forget the books & libraries that have been targeted so consistently over the ages), that they try to destroy, damage or humiliate them! Wars and warriors create small history by abolishing a much bigger and greater history of human civilization, thus compelling the posterity to live in a narrower world...
