Curitiba, PR, July 23 (Folhapress) - After 38 years, Curitiba snowed in this morning, according to Simepar (Meteorological Institute of Paraná). Unlike what was reported in other cities of Paraná, which were up to 15 cm of snow on the ground, in Curitiba phenomenon was quick, lasting about ten minutes and no accumulation. It snowed around 8am, with greater intensity in some neighborhoods, like Big hole, Hauer and Industrial City. Many people waited for the snow in the morning and stayed awake to witness the phenomenon. The rain arrived in Curitiba, but central to the formation of snow, lost power overnight and returned to intensify until the early morning. In the metropolitan area, in Araucaria, Campo Largo and St. Joseph of the Pines, there were also records of snow in the morning with more intensity than in Curitiba, but without forming buildup. According to Simepar, the temperature in Curitiba around 10 am today was 1.8 º C with windchill of -3 ° C.
