Current #Water Situation: Confusing. The different stories thus far: (Feel free to add other excuses they gave): 1. Cable Theft / Vandalism. 2. Randwater says that they are pumping & we must call local Municipality & Municipality says that Randwaters not pumping. 3. SABC news says that the situation will only improve in two weeks. 4. Pump Blew. 5. There is no problem. 6. Some fat cat stole the money needed to pay for infrastructure improvement / Eskom for electricity. Either way - We need to get to the bottom of this. City of Joburg is charging people a deposit equivalent to their one months rates bill in case of non-payment but what do we do when they fail to deliver? @Abramjee: 1/4 Laudium/Erasmia is without water for 6+ days. Anger is mounting. Im being inundated with messages from residents. 2/4 One can understand the anger and frustration. A week without water is unacceptable. My suggestion to residents is that if water supply is not restored by tomorrow afternoon, they should stage a mass peaceful protest... Residents have a right to raise their voices.
