Cycle 4 Day 4: Today has a weird day for me. Thankfully the only - TopicsExpress

Cycle 4 Day 4: Today has a weird day for me. Thankfully the only side effects that I could moan about if I wanted to is the feeling of cramp in my legs. Nothing massive and not enough to take pain killers so all in all HAPPY DAYS! I also have a mouth that feels as dry as a badgers arse. Lol I went to Exeter today to see one of there breast care nurses to show me loads of images of people who have had the different types of reconstructive surgery. A lot of information to get my head around & I dont know how I feel about it all. I have been concentrating so much on how I would be after this chemo session that I had put to the back of my mind what I want to do. I think the real annoying thing is that they wont know if I need radiotherapy until after the surgery. They will put a dye in me which will show up whether the cancer is in my blood vessels and anything in my lymph nodes at all. If they do the reconstruction at the same time as the mastectomy (which I think is what I would choose) but then find out I need radiotherapy that can effect the end results. I think the radiotherapy can harden the tissue. But due to the size of the cancer & that it doesnt seem to be in my lymph nodes its unlikely I will need it but do I take the risk? I feel I just want to get this all over and done with. If I wait it may be 6 months before I have the surgery. It does seem though that taking the tissue from the tummy is probably the best option for me, the more natural results for my size. The recovery for this procedure is about 2-3 months and although my health and what I need is the most important thing (blaa, blaa) I cant help thinking that if I have to build my beauty business back up again and I want to start reliving my life then waiting will make this harder. Who knows hey? I see my surgeon again next week and will talk to her again about the radiotherapy chances. I will say though that its bloody impressive what they can do, tattoo nipples and prosthetic nipples are brilliant! It was weird having a serious conversation with the lady whilst tweeking a nipple in between my fingers! Lol As you can imagine I was pretty exhausted after that boobie trip so snoozed for an hour before the kiddies came home. I am all snuggled up, cant find the controls so watching Doc Mcstuffin while Tris baths my babies. I would just like to say I have had a couple more young ladies get in contact who have been diagnosed recently. Now I never want to scare people with my blog but I also need to emphasise the fact that it can happen to young people so just keep checking. Not frantically but about the same time every month & if you do find something, dont ignore it, GO TO THE DOCTORS.....please! The next dance rehearsal is tomorrow night, 6-7:30 it is at the Unlimted Dance Company studios in Mill Lane. Its going to be my first one, ha ha, I am so shit at dancing its going to be hysterical! But all for a good cause, right? Big kisses & and have a fab evening. Heath xxxxxx
