DAILY CURRENCIES & METALS ANALYSIS Oct-28-2013 EUR USD The EUR is trading at 1.3810 against the USD, marginally higher from the New York close, as investors await the outcome of the Fed’s two day policy meeting scheduled later during the week. During the session, the pair traded at a high of 1.3818 and a low of 1.3795. On Friday, the EUR traded 0.19% higher against the USD in the New York session, and closed at 1.3807. The greenback fell after the University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index dropped at a fastest pace in ten months in October. The pair is expected to find its first support at 1.3753 and first resistance at 1.3827. GBP USD At 09:40 GMT, the GBP is trading at 1.6197 against the USD, 0.14% higher from the New York close, after Hometrack house prices in the UK rose at a steady pace in October. Investors await the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) retail trade survey report in the UK, set to release later today. During the session, the pair traded at a high of 1.6209 and a low of 1.6167. On Friday, the British Pound traded 0.10% lower versus the Dollar in the New York session, and closed at 1.6174. The pair is expected to find its first support at 1.6162 and first resistance at 1.6221. USD JPY The USD is trading at 97.7 against the JPY at 09:40 GMT this morning, 0.36% higher from the New York close. The Yen lost ground, after the BoJ Deputy Governor, Kikuo Iwata, echoed that the central bank would continue to pursue its ultra loose monetary policy to help the Japanese economy meet its inflation target. Market participants would now keep a close tab on Japanese unemployment data to be released later today. During the session, the pair traded at a high of 97.72 and a low of 97.45. In the New York session on Friday, the USD traded marginally higher against the JPY, and closed at 97.35. The pair is expected to find its first support at 97.32 and first resistance at 97.90. USD CHF This morning at 09:40 GMT, the USD is trading at 0.8939 against the Swiss Franc, 0.13% higher from the New York close. Investors would focus on to the Swiss consumption and leading indicators to be released later during the week. During the session, the pair traded at a high of 0.8946 and a low of 0.8921. In the New York session on Friday, the USD traded 0.26% lower against the CHF, and closed at 0.8927. The pair is expected to find its first support at 0.8918 and first resistance at 0.8963. USD CAD At 09:40 GMT, the USD is trading at 1.0444 against the CAD, 0.07% lower from the New York close. During the session, the pair traded at a high of 1.0452 and a low of 1.0429. On Friday, the USD traded 0.10% higher against the CAD in the New York session, and closed at 1.0451. The pair is expected to find its first support at 1.0426 and first resistance at 1.0462. AUD USD The AUD is trading at 0.9618 against the USD, at 09:40 GMT this morning, 0.37% higher from the New York close, ahead of the Reserve Bank of Australia Governor, Glenn Stevens’ speech scheduled later today. During the session, the pair traded at a high of 0.9621 and a low of 0.9584. AUD traded 0.15% lower against the USD in the New York session, and closed at 0.9583. The pair is expected to find its first support at 0.9585 and first resistance at 0.9636. Gold Gold is trading at $1352.53 per ounce, slightly lower from the New York close, as market participants gear up for the US Fed’s monetary policy meeting scheduled later during the week. This morning, Gold traded at a high of $1354.46 and a low of $1346.51 per ounce. In the New York session on Friday, the yellow metal traded 0.77% higher, and closed at $1352.91. Gold has its first support at $1339.84 and first resistance at $1370.86. Silver Silver is trading at $22.65 per ounce, 0.20% higher from the New York close, at 09:40 GMT this morning. This morning, Silver traded at a high of $22.71 and a low of $22.37. Silver traded 1.01% higher against the USD in the New York session, and closed at $22.61, amid increased speculations that the Fed might keep its stance unaltered. Silver has its first support at $22.37 and first resistance at $22.90. Crude Oil At 09:40 GMT, Oil is trading at $98.02 per barrel, 0.50% higher from the New York close. This morning, Oil traded at a high of $98.05 and a low of $97.50. On Friday, Oil traded 0.25% higher in the New York session, and closed at $97.58. It has its first support at $97.34 and first resistance at $98.38.
